interview with an employee/friend of a famous fashion designer

okay readers....i have a chance to do a 10-question interview with a friend of mine who works in the fashion industry for a BIG, HUGE name designer. my friend splits his time between sc and new york city. in the comments section, please submit any questions you would like me to ask him regarding trends, fall fashion, fashion in general, differences in ny and sc fashions, etc. will need all questions by SUNDAY, AUGUST 30th. once i get it all compiled, i'll post it on my blog.

what not to wear wednesday

1. pants that are too short. your pants should be no more than 1/2" off the floor with shoes on. no exceptions. if you don't have a full length mirror you need to get one so that you can check the length. if you just stand there and look down at your pants, you won't get the full picture and you'll just think that they are long enough.

2. pants that are tapered. i know that skinny jeans are "in" and, in some cases, it's fine to be trendy and give them a try. BUT, if you are in the habit of wearing things that taper from the knee down...BIG MISTAKE! all that's gonna do is make everything above your knee look even bigger. trust me. and if you don't trust me, just tune in to "what not to wear" on TLC and listen to stacy and clinton talk about "the ice cream cone effect". i mean, who wants to look like an ice cream cone?!

jewelry

thanks to a tip from my sis (thanks juls!) i headed to kohl's and found jewelry heaven! they have SO much to choose from all at reasonable prices. i got 2 necklaces at $12 each. there were a couple of very cool, slightly edgier-yet-vintagey pieces in the vera wang collection. kohl's will be added to my list of go-to places for jewelry from now on.

oh, and i went to banana republic to use my 40% off coupon for this ring and it was gone! so, i just got another one. i can't find it on the website so i can't show a pic, sorry!

OMGoodness! "the rachel zoe project" was better than i could have imagined!!!!! i actually teared up a few times. good stuff. so envious of her job. can't believe i have to wait another 7 whole days for the next episode!
