Salon 864 & Boutique Event

My bud Rebecca, over at Salon 864 & Boutique is having her first Spring Event this Thursday, March 18 from 4-7. Be the first to see all of her new Spring clothes, jewelry, hair accessories and Bumble & bumble hair products. If you've never tried B&b, it is GOOD stuff! I, personally, love the Creme de Coco conditioner.

(all of the items in the images about are available at Salon 864 & Boutique...except for the gray sweater that Rebecca has on...that's hers but, who knows, maybe she'd sell it to you?)

Spring Fling

Okay People! I've been saying it for weeks now but, Spring REALLY is almost here! It's time to move the Winter stuff to the attic and bring down the colorful Spring clothes. This would be the prime time to have me come over for a Closet Purge or Wardrobe Repurposing Session. I can even meet you out for a morning/evening of shopping to get some cute new things for your wardrobe. And to sweeten the deal, I'm offering all clients who book an April appointment 20% off my hourly rate! I encourage you to book soon because April is starting to get busy!!

Twin (fraternal) Shoes

You may remember this post from a few weeks back. Well, I got the shoes from Nordstrom in black and in gray. Unfortunately, they didn't fit. They were just too narrow and I didn't think it was cute to have my feet (which aren't wide so I don't understand why these shoes didn't work) hanging over the sides. So, I returned them. They were $80 each. THEN....my friend Christy told me that Target has some similar shoes so I went this morning to take a look. Lo and behold they had them! Not exactly the same but close enough. Best part? Actually there are 2 best parts: 1. They are much more comfy than the $80 ones 2. They were only $23!!! Target online has them in gray and in tan so, I'll be ordering at least one more pair.

So, to all the haters who made fun of the Nordstrom shoes, do you like these any better? It doesn't really matter b/c I'm keeping them no matter what you think but, I'm just curious!

Parlez Vous Francais?

I don't but here are some things that caught my eye from Paris Fashion Week.

'I DIE!'

Ewwww...Yuck! A MUST READ via cocoperez.com

After buying your clothes, do you wash them?

If you don't, you might want to start today!

Good Morning America enlisted the help of Dr. Philip Tierno, director of microbiology and immunology at New York University, to see what's lurking on newly purchased clothes and the findings are disturbing!

Garments were collected from various stores including a high end department store. After swabbing areas on different clothing items, results showed evidence of respiratory secretions, skin flora, yeast, fecal germs and vaginal secretions.

Tierno also discovered:

"Some garments were grossly contaminated with many organisms … indicating that either many people tried it or … someone tried it on with heavy contamination. In a sense, you are touching somebody's arm pit or groin. So you want to be protected that's all. You may not come down with anything and, most cases you don't, but it's potentially possible."

If you aren't already sick to your stomach, Tierno adds clothes could potentially spread "a very bad type of diarrhea — you can also transmit things like the norovirus, stomach virus. You can transmit things like MRSA [a staph bacteria]."

So what can you do?

Wash your clothes! Or you can even run them through one cycle in a hot dryer.

He also suggests wearing a layer of clothing while trying on clothes.

Happy shopping!

Special Offer from The Gap! Starts March 5th..

Here's an easy way to help the environment, get some new jeans at a great price, and get rid of some jeans in your closet that have seen better days. Must present coupon to be eligible for savings. Be sure to tell them I sent you! (for all you Greenville peeps)

And The Winner Is......

Christy S! Let me know which card case you'd like and I'll get it to you. And thanks again to Heather for supplying the prize!

These are some pictures from here that caught my eye. In the first one I even like the girl on the right's outfit...the bluish cargos and the brown shoes and jacket. In the 2nd one, her top isn't long enough for the leggings, in my opinion, but, her long coat covers enough in the back to make it okay.

I have a very important topic that I will be blogging about later tonight or tomorrow...you MUST check back.
