A Local Version of What Not To Wear Wednesday (on Friday)

The woman on the left is a PERFECT example of why you should not wear tapered pants.
'Nuff said!

  1. I THINK WHAT YOU ARE SAYING IS RUDE! JESUS DOES NOT JUDGE OTHERS NO MATTER WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE SKINNY FAT BLACK OR WHITE. MAYBE YOU NEED TO RECONSIDER WHAT YOU SAY ON YOUR BLOGS AB PEOPLE AND THERE CLOTHES. HE DOESNT CARE IF WE WEAR OVERHALLS, WITH DANSKOS FOR THAT MATTER AND IT WE DID IM SURE HE WOULD THINK WE WERE PERFECT ! SOME PEOPLE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD ANYTHING OTHER THAN OVERHALLS , I THINK YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED !

  4. Dear PINKTOES - Kelley has never claimed that Jesus judges others based on what they wear. Nor is she judging people in her blog posts - skinny, fat, black or white. Or dansko or overall wearers (which i assume is what you're referring to when you say "overhauls").

She is simply pointing out to those who choose to read her blog what things are widely regarded as (un)flattering, (un)fashionable, (un)comfortable, (in)expensive, (un)stylish, etc.

In her job, she is taking her God-given gifts and passion and helping other people (men, women, girls) learn what looks best on them and find those things (at ANY budget) so that they might reach higher levels of self-awareness and self-confidence.

She has found a way to use her talents to benefit others who may then go forth to glorify God. (And others who may not - but those who might not know Him personally certainly see His work in her - whether they know it or not.)

She has been a friend and mentor to many - beyond fashion, yet through fashion.

If your problem is with the level of sensivity (or lack thereof) with which she posts, then you should be more specific in your complaint, as an opinion such as that is subjective and therefore more valid than your implication that she is wrongfully judging people who may or may not be able to afford more appropriate and/or well-fitting clothes. That is merely unjust and incorrect.

I hope that in the future, rather than lashing out in judgment & haste, you open yourself up to compassion & love, learn more about a person, and perhaps think through your disagreement more thoroughly before rudely attacking someone.

  5. I'm curious as to what Overhalls are? Also, I don't recall the author of this blog ever saying anything about Jesus. This isn't a religious blog, this is a fashion blog, it's about what looks good, what is fashionable, and not about what people can or can't afford, or what Jesus thinks about fashion. Jesus was content with robes and sandals, but other people aren't. I happen to know that Danskos, and most "overhalls" are actually fairly expensive. It's very possible to look good while shopping at goodwill.
