young, fabulous and broke

i thought i was finished blogging for the day and then i came across this fabulous shirt by young, fabulous and broke.

i am speechless....

A Spanish toy manufacturer has created a doll that simulates breastfeeding.Berjuan has released what is believed to be the first-ever breast-feeding doll for kids. The top of the doll is adorned with two daisies, strategically designed to fall over the nipples. When the doll is lifted to the daisies, it makes a sucking motion and sound. The doll also cries for more milk and beckons to be burped.Bebe Gloton apparently has not been made available in the U.S. as of yet

just got my nordstrom catalog.....

what not to wear wednesday

i believe that you really shouldn't wear prints on the largest part of your body. got some junk in your trunk? don't wear floral or striped or polka dotted pants...please. doing so will only accentuate your junk. top heavy or broad shouldered? keep the prints on the bottom half. if you MUST use bold prints, incorporate them in jewelry or handbags or even shoes. and, one last "don't"--don't wear cropped pants unless you are stick thin and tall. they only cut your body off and make you look shorter. if you want to stay cool then try replacing your cropped pants with knee length shorts or a fun skirt!

what i do

I love to shop. Whether it's for myself or for other people. I love fashion. I love pretty things. I love seeing people perk up when they have on outfit that makes them feel good. I spend a lot of time browsing fashion magazines and fashion websites. I can work with any budget. I took all of the fashion classes at Millie Lewis. I have been in the modeling industry for 18 years. I study books about body types and what silhouettes work best for those body types. I have shopped in a wide range of stores -- from Target to Bergdorf. I have weekly scouting trips to the mall to search for new styles, sales, and store inventories. I am qualified to help you with anything related to fashion.

The services that I am currently offering and brief descriptions are listed below.

CLOSET PURGING & WARDROBE RE-PURPOSING:

Have a closet full of clothes that you never wear because things don't fit (whether too big or too small)? Torn because you paid a lot of money for those pants that are no longer in style, but you can't bring yourself to part with them? Love a certain pair of pants but don't think you have "a thing" to go with them? Do you always grab the same clothes out of the closet because you're not sure if that gray shirt "goes" with those brown pants? Do you wish you could stretch your current wardrobe just by adding a few, classic or trendy pieces to create a new look? I'M YOUR GIRL!

I will take a look at your clothes and we'll decide what should stay and what should go. You'll feel more comfortable in your clothes when they're in style and when they fit properly and I’ll help you determine the perfect fit for your body type. As for that challenging pair of pants - chances are, you have more than one thing to go with them. You’ll see how clothes you already own go together (or don’t), giving you many more “go to” choices. No need to agonize over what to wear each day. I’ll show you great new outfit options from clothes you already own. After my visit I will send you a detailed assessment with digital pictures, including alteration & outfit suggestions, color combination options, and pieces that you may want to purchase at a later date to complete or complement your existing wardrobe.

PERSONAL SHOPPING & FASHION STYLING:

Have a special event and aren't sure what to wear? Need some new clothes for the change of season? Easily overwhelmed in large department stores? Need the perfect pair of jeans? Think you have to choose comfort over style? Sick of wearing the same color all time and want to try some different color combinations? THIS IS WHERE I COME IN!

I will teach you how to easily find the right styles, shapes, and sizes for your needs - whether for a particular event or season or just every day living. I’ll save you from the "mom jeans" by getting the right cut, wash and size. I'll help ease the frustrations of shopping by guiding you to appropriate choices, bringing you additional sizes & colors, and making sense of today's fashion trends. I'll help you save time and money by providing a valid opinion on fit and style, so you'll love everything you buy.

My fee is $30 per hour with a 1 hour minimum.

'fessing up...

i ordered both pairs of boots that i posted about earlier this week. i'm not keeping them both. i just wanted to try them to see which i'll get the most use out of. then, i'll ask for them for my b'day and christmas. i'll let you know what i decide!

deep thoughts

i took my 3 1/2 year old to the park today. (mainly out of guilt b/c he's watched a TON of tv the past few mornings b/c i haven't been sleeping well and i try to catch a few more minutes of snooze time after he gets up). there were 2 buses from the YMCA there. we were not there long b/c it was VERY hot. but, in the short time that we were there with the YMCA kids, i saw and heard things i never want to see and hear from my child when he turns 6. (approx age of the Y kids)

there were 2 little girls who kept violently hitting each other in the head with water bottles. (i tattled on them to the camp counselors). one of the same little girls told another boy "so-and-so wants to marry you and make out with you!". when the counselor told this same little girl to do something, she spoke to her in a manner that, at my house, it spanking-worthy. all the while, another girl (named lorelei) cried b/c someone had thrown away her nilla wafers. i mean, she sobbed.

i was sad and disturbed on many levels. sad that the kids were acting as poorly as they were. sad that the kids were at day camp rather than at home with their parents. sad that the parents either A. sent the kids to camp b/c they were too much to deal with B. sent the kids to camp b/c they want someone else to teach them to be kind to others C. sad that the parents (and so many parents in general) have to work full time and trust someone else to raise their kids. D. sad that little lorelei was missing out on her snack. (not really)

it made me want to keep canon under my watchful eye at ALL times. then i started asking myself: "at what point am i being too protecting of my child?", "at what point do i let him out into the "real world" to be a light to others?", "when do i know (and will i ever know) if i have raised him right?", "omgoodness, does my child act like that when i'm not around?", "do i really trust the lord with my son?".

oh, and a quick disclaimer. i don't think there is anything wrong with sending kids to camp---my child just finished up a month of bible camp at first pres. i guess i was just trying to make a point about the motives of the parents deciding to send their kids to camp.

i came across these pics of sienna miller on people.com. she wore all 5 of these outfits in 1 day while promoting a new movie. i LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the red dress and chloe sandals. the 2nd outfit is pretty cool, too. not diggin' the last 3. what's your favorite look?

miley and max

miley cyrus and max azria's (of bcbg fame) collection has hit walmart stores. i haven't seen the pieces in person but, these couple of things from the website caught my eye. unfortunately, most of the stuff was too bright, too short, or too young for my liking.
